The Society is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes under Section 501 c-3 of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of future federal tax code. The purposes of the Society shall be to:
a) Develop and foster standards for simulation education and applications that affect health care practices.
b) Stimulate and promote the professional development of those individuals and institutions interested in simulation modalities and their applications.
c) Develop and foster an international network of simulation educators.
d) Partner with professional societies having common goals for the benefit of patient safety and the Society.
e) Develop and promote standards of simulation-based practice, education, and research in the facilitation of patient safety.
f) Provide for continuing professional development of individuals who serve the patient through simulation-based education, research, and development.
g) Advise on legislation and government programs related to simulation.
h) Serve as an international voice for medical simulation concerns.
